During Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Fox Business Tonight,” House Ways and Means Committee Representative Kevin Brady (R-TX) argued that Democrats’ “deafness” of Congress spending all day hearings on January 6 on the same day the consumer price index shows inflation is rising is an example of Democrats ignoring what working families need and focusing only on their agenda items.
Host Sean Duffy said: [relevant exchange begins around 4:05] “I think with these numbers coming out, the Democrats would have said, look, I want every member back in Washington, we need to figure out what we Democrats got wrong, we need to figure out how do we fix this for the American people, we need to have emergency meetings. But that’s not what happened today, Congressman. They are holding hearings on January 6, instead of talking about the issues that really matter to people, which is the economy. Does this make sense to you? »
Brady replied, “No, it’s not. But that’s been the whole two years of one-party rule, which is their program, forget what working families and middle-class families need. We have a radical program, we are going to impose it on you. And the sound deafness that you have just described is what we have seen. It’s time for a change.”
