Former Democratic Rep. Jeff Van Drew, RN.J., fended off several challengers in his Republican congressional primary in New Jersey, winning 85% of the vote in a landslide victory.

The Trump-supporting Republican told ‘Fox & Friends First’ hosts Todd Piro and Carley Shimkus that he attributes his success to those around him, including those who espouse his values ​​of ‘freedom’, ‘hard work’ and to make sure that everyone “obeys[s] the rule of law”, among others.

” Almost everything [the Biden administration] did… was so destructive,” he said.

“The worst president, the worst administration in the history of America, in my opinion,” he added.

Van Drew also credited former President Donald Trump’s endorsement for his victory, saying “he was always with me, he supported me. [and] not only did he approve of me, but he had me at Mar-a-Lago and New York…”

An overwhelming majority of Trump-backed candidates have won Republican primaries in recent months.

Van Drew said he believed the former president’s message and was thrilled with his accomplishments for the country.

“I believe in what he did in that he actually destroyed the swamp, he told the truth about what’s really going on,” he said.

“People want the truth. They want change. They don’t want this dysfunctional America that this administration is creating.”
