Dem Sen. Warner slams ‘outrageous extremist’ threats against SCOTUS judges

On Thursday, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) pushed back against any potential threat of violence directed at Supreme Court justices in response to the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion quashing the 1973 Roe v. Wade.

During an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Warner “completely” condemned the leaked draft advisory and said those serving in public life should not feel verbal or physical threats from the from “scandalous extremists”.

“[I] think of anyone in public life, whether you’re a threatened Supreme Court justice, whether you’re one of the … senators who voted to impeach Mr. Trump whose life was threatened, I think that kind of ‘action is outrageous – at each end of the political spectrum,’ Warner told host John Roberts. “And we have to do everything we can, and if there are other, you know, secret services or other security entities that have to protect our judges, amen. People shouldn’t serve in public life and feel that outrageous extremists at both ends of the political agenda suddenly have the right to physically and verbally attack public officials.

“I completely condemn the leak, and whoever leaked it, you know, should be prosecuted,” he added.
