Decatur woman faces $30,000 bail for marijuana and illegal liquor sales

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Two people have been arrested after investigators found a large amount of marijuana and cash in Decatur.

On Wednesday, Decatur officials executed a search warrant on 5th Avenue SW in reference to the sale of illegal drugs and alcohol. Upon arrival, investigators say they found drug paraphernalia, a large amount of marijuana and cash.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Decatur police have charged Lauren Kirkland, 29, of Decatur with first degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and selling alcohol without a license. She was sentenced to Morgan County Jail on $30,800 bond.

Officials say Montravius ​​Walton, 27, of Decatur, has been charged with obstructing government operations. He was taken to Morgan County Jail in lieu of $300 bond.
