De Blasio blames guns after career criminal allegedly attacks officers

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (R) blamed the guns after a career criminal attack on two NYPD officers the day before Thanksgiving.

The New York Times noted that two NYPD officers in the Bronx were shot dead Wednesday night as they responded to reports of a man with a gun.

The officers, a man and a woman, are both expected to survive.

The shooting suspect was shot dead three times during the shooting with officers and his condition “went from serious to critical”.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea noted the suspect was a “career criminal with far too many arrests.”

Shea also noted that the gun used by the suspect was reported stolen in Georgia last year.

FOX News reported that Mayor de Blasio suggested there were “too many guns out there.” He added that the alleged use of a stolen firearm by the criminal is “another example of an out-of-state gun entering our city, injuring a New Yorker.” .

NYPD News cited Police Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch said: “Yes, there are guns on the streets, but criminals are not afraid to carry them. They’re not afraid to put it in their belt, put it in their pocket, and shoot it at a policeman. This is the problem.”
