Davis Cup and Asian Games tennis events postponed to avoid clashes

To avoid scheduling conflicts, the dates for the 2022 Asian Games tennis events and 2022 Davis Cup Group I matches scheduled for later this year have been changed. Previously, the Asian Games tennis competitions were scheduled to take place from September 10 to 14 this year.

On the other hand, Davis Cup The World Group I matches were scheduled to take place either September 16-17 or September 17-18, leaving a small gap between the two events. According to PTI, the All-India Tennis Association (AITA) has asked the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to change the dates so that India can send its strongest teams to the two big games.

With India set to face Norway in a Davis Cup match, the AITA said it was unrealistic to travel to China and be ready for the match in such a short time. From September 10 to 25, 2022, the Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China.

The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and the Asian Tennis Association (AITA) have worked together to persuade the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to change the dates of Davis Cup Group I matches. The Asian Tennis Federation has also made changes to the Asian Games tennis program to provide the best possible conditions.

The Davis Cup match between India and Norway, along with matches involving nine other Asian tennis nations, will now take place on September 14-15, while the Asian Games tennis competitions will take place from September 18-24. .
