Conor McGregor and rapper Machine Gun Kelly had an argument at the MTV Video Music Awards, but UFC President Dana White downplayed the incident.
Overnight, it was suggested the beef had started when McGregor asked MGK for a photo, but the rapper declined.
UFC star McGregor was then seen throwing the American a drink before things finally calmed down.
White knows them both, with Kelly and his girlfriend Megan Fox in attendance for McGregor’s loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July.
The boss explained that it was just a misunderstanding.
“I’ve spoken to both, actually,” he said on his Contender series.
“They’re all good now. [It was] a misunderstanding, or whatever.
The Irishman has a history of erratic behavior outside of the cage, but Whites are not affected.
“Guys, this is about the fight,” he added. “I had 700 madmen under contract here. What do you guys think – these are the things that happen sometimes.
“It’s not Microsoft. We’re in a damn business here.
“I think we all know Conor’s personality, and we have guys who were like that. These guys are fighters, and that’s the business of fighting. Crazy bullshit happens in the combat business.
“There is all the bullshit you know because it’s happening in public.
“It doesn’t matter what bullshit you don’t know that comes up every day.”
McGregor decided to deny the incident in an interview later that night, but still gave Kelly a subtle search.
“Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters. People who really fight,” he said.
“I’m definitely not fighting the little white rappers in Vanilla Ice. I don’t even know the guy.
“I don’t know anything about him except he’s with Megan Fox.”
