Tips Ffos Las Racing

1.55: Lord Bertie 10/11 (NB)

The deadly combination of Tom Marquand and William Haggas should come into play here with this rock-solid favorite.

Finished just a length of a second on his Newbury debut and as is the case with many two-year-old colts, the colt should make good progress from his first race.

Has a decent pedigree to boot and the advantage of experience over the only other contender according to bets, which is Dubawi’s colt Elraaed for Owen Burrows.

But the market might be the best indication of who to back – if the horse owned by Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum closes in on the favourite, it’s safe to say there’s plenty of confidence in a big first race.

Kempton Race Tips

6:25 am: Princess Naomi 6/4 (NAP)

Andrea Atzeni has had plenty of winners, six in his last 28 races over the past two weeks and should be up there with his mount in the opener at Kempton.

The filly has won twice in a row now and after that big win at Chelmsford she followed it up with another win, back on the grass at Beverley last time out.

Being increased on the trip to a minimum of 7f seems to suit her well and she won with a few to spare despite the increased weights.

She gets another 8-pound raise to try to catch up to the handicapper, but it looks like there could be more to come from the Rod Millman-trained filly.

7.20am: Pembrokeshire 9/1

It’s a fairly open nursery handicap with plenty of unknowns, but it could be worth the risk for an outside shot, given Pembrokeshire’s solid sixth place in Class 1 society last time out.

It’s early days for these two-year-old colts, but this colt by Iffraaj has already seen some top-class action at Newbury in July after a shock 50/1 win at Yarmouth on his debut.

Back on board is Neil Callan, who has a 17% strike rate and could prove too expensive.

That’s not to say the market leaders shouldn’t be backed, as there’s a lot to love about nearly all of these runners.

The three market leaders have exceptional form, Al Khazneh and Stunt Game have finished second three times in a row.

And the horse Godolphin should also be taken into account, especially in his first race since being castrated.

But Pembrokeshire’s highest weight could thwart all that and possibly even give one of them yet another second place finish.
