Islamabad: At least six people from one family, including children, were killed in a cylinder explosion in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan on Sunday, media reports said.

The blast happened when the family tried to turn on a heater to combat the intense cold in the provincial capital Quetta, the ARY news channel reported.

The whole house was damaged due to the explosion caused by a gas leak.

The report said the bodies were transferred to a hospital, but the identities of the deceased could not be established.

Most parts of Balochistan, including the capital Quetta, are experiencing freezing cold, with the mercury dropping to -10°C to -15°C in some areas, the Dawn newspaper reported.
