Cycling: D-100 before the big start of the Tour de France 2023 in Bilbao
The Tour de France 2023 will start on July 1st in Bilbao. Race director Christian Prudhomme traveled to the Spanish city to start the countdown to the last 100 days.
The countdown begins. This Wednesday, March 22, the director of the Grande Boucle Christian Prudhomme triggered the symbolic count of the last 100 days before the start of the Tour de France 2023 in the capital of Biscay.
For the occasion, the Spanish city has put on its best costume. A gigantic yellow jersey was on a building located in front of the town hall.
Impressed by the passion of the Basques, Christian Prudhomme did not fail to praise the city of Juan Mari Aburto (the mayor of Bilbao): “The Basque public is the yellow jersey of the Tour supporters of France, it is one of the best public in the world. Since the departure of Saint-Sebastián in 1992, Bilbao, the Basque Country and Biscay have written to us every year. I am sure that it will be extraordinary”. The race director in the yellow jersey was even entitled to a gift: an Athletic Bilbao jersey.
