Returning Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has told fans he’s back in his place and has special words for former mentor Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ronaldo’s spectacular return to the club where he became one of the greatest of all time was made official on the transfer deadline day, following the blockbuster announcement of a deal reached on Friday .
United have signed the five-time Champions League and Ballon d’Or winner on a two-year contract, initially worth £ 12.8million with a contract worth £ 480,000 a week .
The Red Devils have reportedly repelled the interest of their Manchester City rivals in securing the signing, and news soon emerged that a phone call from legendary boss Ferguson had helped sway the 36-year-old’s mind.
After completing his medical examination and bidding farewell to Juventus, Ronaldo, the most followed person on Instagram, took to the platform to express his joy to his 335 million followers.
“Everyone who knows me knows my endless love for Manchester United,” said the Portugal captain.
“The years I have spent at this club have been absolutely incredible and the path we have forged together is written in golden letters in the history of this great and astonishing institution.
“I can’t even begin to explain my feelings right now, as I see my return to Old Trafford announced around the world.
“It’s like a dream come true, after all the times I’ve gone back to play against Man United, and even as an opponent, to have always felt so much love and respect from the fans in the stands It is absolutely 100% what dreams are made of!

Ronaldo was brought to Old Trafford under Ferguson in 2003 and would still call him “boss”, with the two exchanging phone calls regularly.
And after his record-breaking departure from Real Madrid in 2009, Ronaldo commented on the couple’s relationship, saying: “He has been my father in sport, one of the most important and influential factors of my career.
“I have to thank him for everything he taught me. It was fundamental. I will always have great affection for him and he will hold a special place in my heart.
