Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a leave of absence from Manchester United’s warm-up to check on a ball-hit flight attendant ahead of the Champions League clash with Young Boys.
All eyes were on the Portugal icon, just after two goals in his second Premier League debut as the Red Devils kick off their 2021/21 campaign in Europe.
Ronaldo would put United in the lead, but the 36-year-old made his mark before the game even started in Switzerland.
Noticing that a female staff member had been hit by a stray bullet at the Stade de Suisse, Ronaldo jumped over the barrier to keep an eye on her.
The flight attendant was already receiving medical treatment and the forward spent a moment talking to him before resuming the warm-up.
Ronaldo was making his 177th Champions League appearance, tying the record held by Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas.
The United striker is already the competition’s all-time top scorer and added to that by scoring his 135th Champions League goal in the 13th minute.
This means the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has already scored three goals in two games since returning to Old Trafford.
