The praise for Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo continued after his remarkable comeback to form.
Ronaldo had a slow start to 2022 as the 37-year-old superstar struggled to make an impact for the below-average Red Devils, but he quickly hit his stride.
As of February, Ronaldo still hasn’t registered any goals or assists for his club.
However, the Portugal international recently hit a purple spot and has since overtaken Tottenham and Liverpool stars in the 2022 Premier League goalscoring charts.
Ronaldo’s ace was on the scoresheet on Monday night as United beat Brentford 3-0 in their final home game of the season at Old Trafford.
The global icon scored from the spot to take his league tally to 18, putting him just behind Mohamed Salah and Heung-min Son in the running for this season’s Golden Boot.
Since February, he has overtaken Diogo Jota Sadio Mane and Harry Kane to go one behind Son and four behind Salah.
His latest strike continued his hot streak at Old Trafford, having netted eight times in his last four Premier League home appearances.

However, in February, the talismanic Portuguese striker failed to register a single goal or an assist for his team which certainly raised eyebrows and caused football fans to question his commitment.
Fast track three months, and Ronaldo has undoubtedly increased his performance levels and all-around game.
His penalty against Brentford meant he had now scored against 168 different teams in his career, 123 clubs and against 45 countries while on international duty with Portugal.
It has also seen him go from no goals in 2022 to being the second most prolific goalscorer this year so far, with his ten goals to just one behind Spurs star Son Son’s tally of 11.
Following his return to form, talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor heaped praise on Ronaldo, although Man United fans may not like what he had to say.
The former Aston Villa captain says the striker is simply too good for United’s current situation and says he should leave this summer – and there won’t be a shortage of offers.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else took it over like Paris Saint-Germain or an Italian club, or a club in Spain,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT Breakfast.
“You don’t know what he [Ronaldo] think. Maybe he’s not ready to go to America yet, to places like Inter Miami or LA Galaxy, I don’t think he will go yet.
Former striker Agbonlahor believes new United boss Erik ten Hag will have to sit down with Ronaldo to discuss his future.
“Ten Hag will look at this team and think, ‘I need him – without him we probably would have finished tenth’,” he added.
“So he might come in and think, I want to keep him, but he’s going to have to have a big talk with Ronaldo and tell him, I’m going to play you in the game I want you to play in.
“There may be a game where you don’t fit the formation or the tactics I want to play, I can’t make you sulk.
“Ronaldo might say I want to play every game and then Ten Hag might say maybe it’s better for you to go.”
