Workers at a downtown Atlanta movie studio now bemoan the crane piercing the roof.
“It did a lot of damage to him, a lot of damage,” said a studio employee.
The 120-ton mobile crane has expanded according to JB Vick, owner of MVP Studios. The crane was removing the HVAC units from the roof when the incident occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. The arrow crashed in the studio. The building was unoccupied at the time according to Atlanta Fire Rescue. No injuries were reported.
“There’s a lot of high tech stuff in there, there’s a lot of stuff in there, we don’t want to say what’s in there but it’s not good,” JB said.
MVP Studios is located at 255 Ted Turner Drive SW. The truck-loaded commercial crane was parked on the Whitehall Street side of the studios.
The owner said a production is due to start filming in the coming weeks.
“If you work for Showtime and have a movie starting next week, we’ll contact you tonight because you’re not going to enter this building,” JB said.
