The incidence rate
The incidence rate of covid-19 cases in the region, that is to say the number of new cases diagnosed by PCR test during the last seven days, is down, this Monday in Brittany. He wakes up at 144.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a decrease of 22.1 points in three days. The positivity rate is 5.9%.
Ille-et-Vilaine retains the highest incidence rate, at 201.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (-32.7). Morbihan (149.2; -24.6), Côtes-d’Armor (132.7; -23.8) and Finistère (82.3; -6.2) follow.
The number of hospitalized patients is up sharply on Monday in Brittany, with 835 hospitalizations in progress (+20 compared to Friday). 101 patients are cared for in the intensive care units of Breton hospitals, five less than 72 hours ago. Thirteen deaths are to be deplored during the last 72 hours, the toll therefore climbs to 1,513 deaths in hospital.
Brittany has recorded 1,267 new cases since Friday, bringing to 135,933 the number of people infected in the region since the start of the epidemic. Among these cases, 523 are in Ille-et-Vilaine, 287 in Morbihan, 248 in Côtes-d’Armor and 209 in Finistère.
Brittany currently has 141 clusters under investigation by ARS Bretagne, a number identical to Friday: 59 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 28 in Morbihan, 32 in Côtes-d’Armor and 22 in Finistère.
The vaccination coverage of the Breton population is 27.6% (at least one dose for all ages). On May 2, 1,268,424 injections had been carried out: 275,128 in Côtes d’Armor, 347,475 in Finistère, 346,119 in Ille-et-Vilaine and 299,802 in Morbihan.
