The incidence rate
The incidence rate of covid-19 cases in the region, that is to say the number of new cases diagnosed by PCR test during the last seven days, is on the rise in Brittany on Monday: -13 , 4% compared to Friday. It amounts to 103.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate is 4.2%. Ille-et-Vilaine retains the highest incidence rate, at 150.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (+11.7). Morbihan (113.3, +15), Côtes-d’Armor (81, +14.2) and Finistère (54.6, +13.5) follow, which is back above the alert threshold fixed at 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Hospitalizations in Brittany
The number of hospitalized patients is also on the rise this Monday in Brittany, with 728 hospitalizations in progress (+15 compared to Friday). On the other hand, the number of patients (44) treated in the intensive care units of Breton hospitals is decreasing (-5). 46 additional people were able to reach their homes (4,590 in total). Twenty-three additional deaths are to be deplored in the last 72 hours, the death toll climbs to 1,099 hospital deaths.
The number of new cases
Brittany has recorded 1,244 new cases since Friday, bringing to 81,709 the number of people infected in the region since the start of the epidemic. Among these 1,244 cases, 588 are in Ille-et-Vilaine (38,282 in total), 289 in Morbihan (16,772), 191 in Finistère (14,972) and 176 in Côtes-d’Armor (11 683).
