The incidence rate
The incidence rate of covid-19 cases in Brittany, i.e. the number of new cases diagnosed by PCR test in one week, continues to increase: it thus stands at 67 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, an increase of 31.3 points in one week (+12.2 the previous week). They are increasing very significantly over the whole of Brittany. The positivity rate is 2.8%. This week, Ille-et-Vilaine is the Breton department with the highest incidence rate (76.7; +33.3) ahead of Morbihan (74.3; +41.3), Finistère (61 , 7; +25.4) and the Côtes-d’Armor (48.3; +24). The first three have already exceeded the alert threshold (50 cases / 100,000 inhabitants)
Another indicator in decline in Brittany, that of the number of hospitalized patients: 270 hospitalizations in progress (-10 compared to Friday July 16) including 16 patients in the intensive care units of Breton hospitals (-1). One death is to be deplored during the last seven days. The death toll therefore climbs to 1,662 hospital deaths.
The number of new cases has doubled. Brittany recorded 2,758 in one week (1,251 the previous week), bringing to 149,693 the number of people infected in the region since the start of the epidemic. Among these new cases, 1,035 are in Ille-et-Vilaine (+616), 665 in Finistère (+297), 726 in Morbihan (+475) and 316 in Côtes-d’Armor (+149) .
Brittany currently has 46 clusters under investigation (+5) by ARS Bretagne: 15 in Finistère, 15 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 9 in Morbihan and 7 in Côtes-d’Armor.
In Brittany, 63.4% of the population (all ages combined) received at least one dose of vaccine, ie the largest region in France: in total, 3,733,544 injections were carried out on the evening of July 22. By department, the number of vaccinations is 1,106,815 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 1,050,282 in Finistère, 855,092 in Morbihan and 721,355 in Côtes-d’Armor.
