The incidence rate
The incidence rate of covid-19 cases in the region, that is to say the number of new cases diagnosed by PCR test during the last seven days, is down, this Friday in Brittany. It stands at 167 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a decrease of 13.6 points in two days. The positivity rate is 7%.
Ille-et-Vilaine retains the highest incidence rate, at 233.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (-13.5). Morbihan (173.8; -24.7), Côtes-d’Armor (156.5; -14.1) and Finistère (88.5; -4.3) follow.
The number of hospitalized patients is up sharply on Monday in Brittany, with 815 hospitalizations in progress (-27 compared to Wednesday). 106 patients are taken care of in the intensive care units of Breton hospitals, twelve less than Wednesday. Thirteen deaths are to be deplored during the last 48 hours, the toll therefore climbs to 1,500 deaths in hospital.
Brittany has recorded 1,371 new cases since Wednesday, bringing to 134,666 the number of people infected in the region since the start of the epidemic. Among these cases, 605 are in Ille-et-Vilaine, 315 in Morbihan, 232 in Côtes-d’Armor and 218 in Finistère.
Brittany currently has 141 clusters under investigation by ARS Bretagne (+5 in two days): 59 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 28 in Morbihan, 32 in Côtes-d’Armor and 22 in Finistère .
On the evening of Sunday April 29, 1,221,684 vaccinations had been carried out in Brittany (including 330,332 relating to the second injection): 335,013 in Ille-et-Vilaine (including 85,290 relating to the second injection), 333,058 in Finistère (of which 87,587 relate to the second injection), 287,504 in Morbihan (of which 73,461 relate to the second injection) and 266,109 in Côtes-d’Armor (of which 83,994 relate to the second injection).
