The incidence rate in Brittany
The incidence rate of covid-19 cases in the region, i.e. the number of new cases diagnosed by PCR test in the last seven days, is down slightly on Wednesday: -0.9% compared to Monday. It amounts to 96.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate is 4.3%. Ille-et-Vilaine experienced a slightly more marked drop in the incidence rate, to 149 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (-4). Morbihan (96.6, +2.6), Côtes-d’Armor (59, +0.1) and Finistère (58.5, -0.7) follow.
The number of new cases
Brittany has recorded 1,107 new cases since Monday, bringing the number of people infected in the region to 65,698 since the start of the epidemic. Among these 1,107 cases, 501 are in Ille-et-Vilaine (30,256 in total), 216 in Finistère (12,599), 284 in Morbihan (13,055) and 106 in Côtes-d’Armor (9 788).
The number of hospitalized patients is also down, this Wednesday in Brittany, with 585 hospitalizations in progress (-5 compared to Monday). 39 patients are now treated in the intensive care units of Breton hospitals (-4). 49 additional people were able to reach their homes (3,726 in total). Twelve additional deaths are to be deplored in the last 72 hours, the toll climbs to 824 deaths in hospital.
The ARS is currently monitoring 84 epidemic outbreaks in Brittany. Forty are located in Ille-et-Vilaine (2 in a professional environment, 4 in a school and university environment, 13 in a health establishment, 2 in an establishment for disabled people, 12 in nursing homes and 7 in the private sphere), 23 in Finistère ( 2 in a professional environment, 1 in a school and university environment, 13 in a health establishment, 2 in an establishment for disabled people, 3 in nursing homes and 2 in the private sphere), 14 in Morbihan (4 in schools and universities, 3 in establishments health, 1 in an establishment for disabled people, 2 in nursing homes and 4 in the private sphere) and 7 in the Côtes-d’Armor (1 in schools and universities, 1 in a health establishment, 1 in nursing homes and 4 in the private sphere ).
