Retail inflation in India, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), jumped to 7.79% in the month of April, from 4.21% recorded a year ago , according to government data released Thursday.
It was 6.95% in March 2022.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) primarily considers retail inflation based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) when formulating its monetary policy.
