Conor McGregor has set his sights on Kamaru Usman as his next UFC opponent – but was warned by his would-be enemy of a “murder scene”.
After breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, the two-time champion wants to clinch his third belt, but this time in the welterweight division.
Notorious’ previous titles came in the featherweight and lightweight division at 145 and 155 pounds when he defeated Jose Aldo in December 2015 and Eddie Alavarez in 2016, respectively.
Now, however, he is not interested in returning to either level and wants to claim victory at 170 pounds.
One thing for sure is that McGregor’s return is getting closer, and speaking to TheMacLife, the Irishman revealed he wants to take on Kamaru Usman.
“I believe against Usman for the 170-pound title for my comeback is the one I’m looking at right now,” McGregor said.
“Now I haven’t really told anyone to be honest, I only think for a few days because what’s the point of cutting the weight?
“I once won the 155-pound title, I got down to a light frame, but I’m big now.

“I feel big, I feel strong, I feel healthy, I have good energy. I’m coming back from a horrible injury. I don’t want to wear myself out, there shouldn’t be any need for me. exhaust.
“And I feel confident against Usman. A happy, sloppy, unsubmissive orthodox wrestler. What is he going to do ? Where is the danger here? I don’t see any danger with him.
“His ground and pound isn’t strong, plus he’s on the older side. And then in addition the world is to be resumed. The triple crown.
“Nobody’s ever gotten three knockouts in three weight divisions like I’ve done before, but nobody’s ever gotten three UFC world titles in three divisions like I will too if we do this fight.”
If the two agreed to fight, then McGregor would be against him having lost three of his last four fights.
Additionally, Usman’s record of 20-1 and a 15-match winning streak is a glimpse of his prolivity in the Octagon.
And after hearing the Irishman’s interview, the welterweight champion laughed off his claims.
On Twitter, he wrote: “You want a murder scene in the octagon. #p4p.
His second post poked fun at McGregor even more by captioning the tweet: “He said he was gonna do what???”
This was then followed by a series of laughing emojis and a hysterical photo of him alongside Khabib Nurmagomedov.
