Conor McGregor overcomes loss of Dustin Poirier by recovering fully customized Lamborghini ‘superboat’ yacht worth £ 2.5million

Conor McGregor found some solace in his second loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in the form of a new £ 2.5million yacht.

It’s one way to soften the shock of a loss that many believe could end his fighting career.

McGregor posted a photo of his new yacht on Instagram

The Notorious broke his leg during his third meeting with Poirier in Las Vegas and UFC President Dana White said the fighter suffered from “chronic arthritis” in his ankles.

But now he’s bought a Lamborghini seven-figure yacht that’s sure to dispel some of his blues.

The Technomar ‘superboat’ is a limited edition creation. It has a 4000 horsepower motor and can effortlessly reach 69 mph on the water.

It’s custom-fitted with kitchen appliances, a dining area, bedroom and bathroom below, and much more… as you might expect, for the price.

McGregor is said to have grossed £ 3.61million from his loss to Poirier, more than five times what the winner got.

He still has a good deal of change left after buying his new toy.

The Irishman won £ 80million for 40 seconds of work against Donald Cerrone in January 2020.

Incredibly, a £ 2.5million yacht is a drop in the ocean for McGregor. The 33-year-old topped Forbes’ highest-paid athlete list in May with a gain of $ 180 million.

The very first two-time UFC champion is believed to have earned $ 158 million outside of his fighting career in the 12 months considered by Forbes, becoming only the third athlete, after Roger Federer and Tiger Woods, to earn more. $ 70 million off the field in a single year while still actively competing.

He is also believed to have sold his stake in Proper 12 Irish Whiskey to Proximo Spirits for $ 600 million.

Money isn’t a problem for McGregor, but he’s had plenty of it in the Octagon over the past few years.

He has won only one UFC victory since becoming a two-time champion in 2016.

Since then, the Dublin-born star has lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Poirier twice, with the early victory over Cerrone sandwiched in between.

McGregor remains confident he will come back with a broken leg and he wants to take on Poirier in a money-making fourth fight.

Their last two encounters are among the three most bought UFC pay-per-views of all time.
