Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady has revealed how important certain characters in the Wolves squad have been in shaping the club’s season so far.
Wolves have consistently played well this campaign, taking on some of the Premier League’s greats and sealing wins against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
Despite losing their last two league games, the Midlands side are still within reach of the Premier League’s top four, and it’s something Coady believes the personalities of his team-mates have played a big part in. .
The 29-year-old, who played 305 games for the Midlands club, explained the impact of his various team-mates, including ‘crazy’ but ‘fantastic’ goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Much of Wolves’ stability in the top half of the table has been attributed to the shot-stopper, who signed for the club last summer.
Together, he and Coady were part of a defense that only conceded goals in League 21, with only Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea bettering their record.
When asked his opinion on the impact the Portuguese stopper has had on the team, Coady gave a hilariously candid response as he described his affection for his keeper.
“He’s a character, a real character,” laughed the defender. “As you probably know most goalkeepers are, they’re all kinda crazy, aren’t they, they’re all kinda weird goalkeepers, to be honest with you.”
