‘Complete stupidity’ – Andy Carroll sent off for Reading after stealing from Manchester United’s Casemiro

Andy Carroll saw red on his return to the big time, with a flying sliding tackle ending his night against Manchester United.
The Reading striker received his marching orders in the 65th minute with his side trailing 2-0 at Old Trafford and exiting the FA Cup.

Reading then lost the tie 3-1, with Carroll in the dressing room for the knockout stages.
The former England striker has seemingly found a new home with the Royals, salvaging an injury-plagued career to become a regular in Paul Ince’s side.
That reliability was not on display in the cup, however, with Carroll having had a horrible night playing against Premier League opposition.
Formerly of Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle, it wasn’t too long ago that trips to such big teams were commonplace for the 34-year-old.
But he looked like a fish out of water in Manchester.
After picking up an unnecessary yellow near the corner flag on the hour mark, Carroll then went flying on Casemiro.
