Rep. James Comer (R-TN), the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee, said Breitbart News Saturday he strongly suspects Hunter Biden’s artwork was sold to Chinese oligarchs, potentially implicating President Joe Biden.
“As for China, since Joe Biden is president, which we didn’t even talk about at the press conference, it’s the fact that Hunter became an artist for a week, if you remember, and he sold very expensive art,” Comer prefaced, noting his Thursday press conference in which he said the Biden family would be investigated for nine potential violations.
Hunter reportedly sold five paintings worth $75,000 each to an anonymous buyer. Hunter art dealer Georges Bergès has previously boasted of having close ties to businessmen in communist China, which has worried many due to the Biden family’s business ventures in the foreign.
“We are 95% sure that this artwork went to China,” Comer said. “We don’t know exactly where it went in China, but we’ll try to find out when we have subpoena power.”
Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended Hunter’s art program and her contact with potential “anonymous” art buyers as “reasonable, saying Hunter” is not involved in the sale or discussions about the sale of his art”, and that Hunter will not be “informed” of “who is buying his art”.
The newly Republican-controlled House will have the power to compel key people, including Hunter, to testify to reveal how deep Joe Biden’s involvement in the family business is.
Comer gave a second example of potential wrongdoing by the Biden family while Joe Biden was president, citing the president’s political decision to sell strategic oil reserves to China, which Comer said involved CEFC, a former company. Chinese energy. Hunter had attempted to strike a deal with CEFC in which Joe Biden would receive a ten percent stake in the deal, according to whistleblower Tony Bobulinski.
“He sold the strategic reserves to a Chinese energy company,” Comer said. “We believe that parts of this energy company were remnants of CEFC.”
“We’ve got a lot of quality whistleblowers that were on the inside,” Comer said, presumably eluding Bobulinski. “They were president of his company. They were, you know, business partners,” he said. “So we have that. We believe that some of the former owners of CEFC were part of this group that bought oil from the oil reserves.
Comer then slammed Joe Biden for potential wrongdoing with China without raising pressing concerns about China’s role in the failure to oversee the sale of fentanyl components.
“Joe Biden goes to China and he never mentions fentanyl, which has killed a hundred thousand people since he was president. He never mentions a lot of unfair trade practices by our manufacturers, China stealing our patents and our brands,” he said.
“It looks like a president compromised by China. And you look at some of the little bank statements that we have, and Hunter Biden got millions of dollars from China. It therefore deserves an investigation,” he concluded.
In 2018 and 2020, Peter Schweizer, Senior Breitbart Contributor and President of the Government Accountability Institute, published secret empires and Profiles in corruption. Each book reached the top spot in the ranking New York Times bestseller list and revealed how Hunter Biden and Joe Biden flew on Air Force Two in 2013 for China before Hunter’s company signed a $1.5 billion deal with a subsidiary of the Bank of China from the Chinese government less than two weeks after the trip. Schweizer’s work also exposed the Biden family’s other vast and lucrative foreign dealings and cronyism. The investigative work of Breitbart political editor Emma-Jo Morris at New York Post on Hunter Biden’s ‘laptop from hell’ also made international headlines when she and Miranda Devine revealed Joe Biden was intimately involved in Hunter’s business, even appearing to own a 10% stake. % in a company that scion formed with officials from the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party.
