Five fishermen are safe and unharmed after being rescued from a burning vessel by US Coast Guard crews on Cape Cod. Officials say Coast Guard received an emergency signal from the 100-foot trawler “Nobska “, which was 85 miles east of Cape Cod, at about 5 p.m. Friday. Crews from the Cape Cod Coast Guard Air Station responded and saw the ship’s bow and wheelhouse ablaze upon arrival at the scene. The five crew members of the Nobska were at the rear of the ship, and the air crew directed the crew into the water, where they were safely hoisted and brought back to shore. No injuries have been reported, officials said. an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and an HC-144 Hercules crew. Officials say the crews encountered winds of 25 mph with 6-foot seas.
