Mike Krzyzewski has made it clear all season that this will be his last year as Duke’s head coach. Following the team’s exit from the NCAA Tournament, however, speculation from some corners suggested that Coach K might reverse that decision.
Krzyzewski spoke about it himself on Wednesday, say ESPNU Radio that he was definitely done with coaching.
“I’m done with the practice part,” Krzyzewski said.
Coach K’s choice of words will raise a few eyebrows, but it’s ultimately pretty definitive here. He may still play a helping role at Duke, but he doesn’t seem to want to return to the daily grind of training and recruiting.
A former Duke star has speculated that a key change in Duke’s schedule could cause Krzyzewski to reevaluate his decision. It certainly gives the impression that this is not happening.
