Following his recent hospitalization, Frank Fritz needs a bit of a break, according to a health update shared by his former “American Pickers” co-star Mike Wolfe.
Wolfe, who co-hosted History’s antiquities-hunting reality show with Fritz, told People in a statement Monday that Fritz’s privacy during his recovery is crucial.
“We’ve asked everyone to keep Frank (in) his thoughts and prayers,” a rep for Wolfe told the outlet. “The most important thing is that we give him time to heal and give him the space to do so.”
A representative for Fritz had no update on Fritz’s condition to share with USA TODAY.

What happened to Frank Fritz from “American Pickers”?
Fritz was hospitalized after suffering a stroke, Wolfe shared on Instagram Thursday.
“Frank suffered a stroke and is in the hospital,” Wolfe wrote in the post. “Please keep it in your hearts and thoughts. Frank, I’m praying more than anything that you get through this. I love you mate.”
Wolfe also addressed rumors of tension between him and Fritz, who stopped appearing on “American Pickers” during season 21.
“I’ve been very private over the past year when it comes to Frank’s life and the journey he’s been on. There’s been a lot of opinions about mine and Frank’s friendship and the show. “Wrote Wolfe. “Now is not the time to set the record straight. This is the time to pray for my friend.”

Why did Frank Fritz leave ‘American Pickers’?
“American Pickers” follows antique hunters as they travel the country rummaging through junkyards and attics in search of historic gems to resell. The series first aired on History in 2010 with Fritz and Wolfe as co-stars. Wolfe confirmed that Fritz would no longer be on the show in July 2021, writing that he would “be missed by Frank.”
“I pray for the best and all good things for him in the next part of his journey,” Wolfe wrote at the time.
However, Wolfe and Fritz share different accounts of Fritz’s absence. Fritz revealed to The Sun in July 2021 that he “hasn’t left the show” and his future on “American Pickers” is uncertain.
“It’s up to the network whether I return to the show. It won’t affect me at all,” Fritz said. “I finished filming, then I had a little back surgery and the pandemic happened.”
While Wolfe said he had a close relationship with Fritz at the time, Fritz also told The Sun that he and his former co-star hadn’t spoken in two years.
“(Mike) knew I had back pain, but he didn’t call me to ask how I was doing. That’s how it is,” he added.
“American Pickers” is currently airing its 23rd season with Wolfe, his brother Robbie Wolfe and antique store manager Danielle Colby as co-stars.
