Clayton eliminates woman he says he doesn’t trust anymore, yells ‘fake crying’ on ‘The Bachelor’

NEW YORK — Women’s jealousy spiked this week on “The Bachelor” as some women got second dates while others had yet to get a one-on-one first date. Sarah returned from her second one-on-one date clutching her rose to the group’s anger. She says she is ready for marriage and also ready to face the liars who tried to get Clayton to eliminate her. Sarah immediately approached the group of women and told them that it was no one’s business to say that she was not ready to be engaged and that she was too young. Mara sat quietly, rolling her eyes for a moment, then admitted she had spoken to Clayton about her displeasure at not having a one-on-one date yet. Then Sarah said Clayton told her on their date that the comments made about her seemed like a last-ditch effort from someone who was worried about going home.

Clayton walked in and thanked the women for letting him “grow up” with him. He pulled Serene first to chat with her. He said he really appreciated the deep conversation they had about the loss of his cousin. Clayton brought mason jars with lights to symbolize fireflies to signify the light of his cousin’s life. Serene was so touched and it reminded him of the memory she shared with him of her and her cousin chasing fireflies when they were children.

Susie laughed and giggled as she told Clayton how much she loved him and used the rest of the time to kiss him. Clayton said he appreciated how “all in” she was. Teddi said she wanted to develop their connection further so he could come and meet his family. Rachel seemed to be having a pleasant conversation with Clayton, but they didn’t know much about it.

Meanwhile, Mara decided to pull Sarah aside and the other women said “beep!” They knew it could cause a huge mess for them. Mara said she didn’t appreciate the “last chance” effort comment from the night before. She also accused Mara of calling her and the other girls “in-between” relationships. Afterwards, Mara told Sarah that she was too “overconfident” and that she should go back to being calm and gentle. Sarah held her ground and said she was just being herself. However, Gabby and Eliza never got to speak to Clayton and Jesse came back to say they were out of time and it was time for the rose ceremony.

This meant that Eliza and Mara were eliminated. This one was supposed to sting for Mara, right after all that talk.

Go one-on-one with Susie

The Final Seven and Clayton traveled to Vienna, Austria! This is the last stop before hometown dates. The first date card arrived and read, “Susie, falling in love with you is like a fairy tale.” Susie had a second one-on-one date. The pink date signifies a hometown date. Clayton picked her up in an expensive car and he was very excited that love was in the air for them. It was your classic date with Cinderella. He took her shopping for designer clothes and dresses and they left with tons of bags. They did a bit of sightseeing and Clayton said he liked the amount of affection she showed him. Then he took her to meet a fashion designer where she got to try on some great dresses. Susie was moved to tears she was so happy.

Susie returned to the hotel on the first part of her date with all her shopping bags. The ladies shouted as she showed the things she had received. Then a man delivered her the red dress she tried on at the designers. Apparently red is Clayton’s favorite dress color. Susie tried it on for the band and they were so jealous. They all agreed that she was gorgeous.

Susie and Clayton then moved on to the evening portion of the date with dinner at a palace. Clayton told Susie he found her grateful and humbled. Susie said she’s never had a day like this and never even treated herself to anything so special. She came from a modest family with modest means and parents who had a difficult upbringing. Susie said her dad would be nice to Clayton and she’s excited to introduce them if he chooses her for a date in his hometown. Clayton said he didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable with all the attention, but he wants her to know she’s worthy. With that, he offered her the pink date! Susie brings Clayton home!

Clayton then accompanied Susie to a ballroom where Chris de Burgh performed his famous song “Lady in Red”. Does it get any better than that? ! Plus – there was no way he playing Susie would have worn anything other than a red dress!

Group meeting
The band’s date card read, “Sarah, Teddi, Genevieve, Rachel, Gabby, how daring you get when you’re sure you’re in love.” That meant Serene had the other one-on-one date. They have all met a woman who does psychoanalysis. Each of them had to have a couples therapy session with Clayton. Gabby wept over her deep feelings for Clayton and the conditionality of her mother’s love. Teddi explained how she’s more open with Clayton than anyone she’s been in the past.

During her session, Genevieve sat in silence for a while, swore, then said she didn’t understand her own feelings because she had conflicting feelings. She told the therapist that she didn’t know what Clayton needed to do to make their relationship work. Clayton shared her fears and she said, “It’s not you, it’s me.” He was clearly taking advantage of this opportunity to free her. Clayton walked her outside and told her he didn’t think they had enough time to develop the relationship sooner. This was the end of Geneviève.

Clayton announced to the women that he had sent Genevieve home. Then he continued his sessions with Rachel. She spoke of her fear of losing their relationship, but also added that she trusted Clayton. He liked to hear that she trusted him and he felt like he could be himself around her. He worries that she is starting to question things. Sarah was last and she told the women she liked the therapy, so she’s excited. She started crying about how the other women targeted her after she got the first second one-on-one date. Clayton tried to reassure her that the situation was in the past and he feels really good about where they are in their relationship. The therapist told Clayton that she found some of the discussions performative. Ouch!

Group date after party
Clayton told the band that he was really bothered by the “performative” commentary and asked what it was about for the band. He told Rachel he knew it wasn’t her, but then asked if she was asking him about why she thought she wasn’t continuing. She said “no” and admitted she was worried about Sarah’s second one-on-one. She called out Sarah for giving too much information about the date and how Clayton and Sarah cried together. He felt upset because “there was no truth to it”. She said her and Teddi’s perspective seemed to reverse because they felt like they weren’t as far along in their relationship. Gabby and Teddi supported what Rachel said.

“I really heard a lot tonight,” Clayton told Sarah. She started crying immediately. He brought up the therapist’s comments and everything the women said. “I want to be very clear, I didn’t say any of those things,” Sarah said. She told Clayton that she felt thrown under the bus. Clayton told her, “I feel like you’re trying to pretend to cry, it didn’t seem real at all.” She told him she had no more tears. What a disaster! His confidence is shattered. “I think we’re done. I just can’t move on with you guys,” Clayton said. This was the end of Sarah’s journey.

Clayton announced to the group that he had decided to send Sarah home. In the end, he decided he couldn’t give the band date because he needed to take some more time to think about his decision.

Go one-on-one with Serene

Serene met Clayton for their big date and she asked him about his breakup with Sarah. He felt better when she confirmed that she trusted him and was confident in his decisions. He said he felt like she really cared about him. They had fun dancing to an accordion player outside.

Later, they went to Belvedere Castle for dinner. Serene said she didn’t bring a boyfriend home to meet her parents until her boyfriend from high school. She said they broke up because they had been together for a long time, but they broke up. They both said they feared their longtime teenage and 20-something relationship might be a waste of time. However, Clayton said it’s not a waste of time because you always learn in relationships. Serene told Clayton that she was falling in love with him. He said he didn’t expect her to say that. Clayton gave her the pink date and she was so excited for him to meet her family.

2) Serene (one-on-one)
3) Rachel
4) Gabby
This meant that Teddi, his choice of first impression roses, would go home. Clayton took Teddi out and she said she couldn’t figure out what had changed in a week. She was heartbroken that their relationship was over.

Next week
Clayton goes bungee jumping, but even more terrifying, he meets the families of his last four wives! Dads are naturally tough!
