Claressa Shields aims for historic triumph this weekend

Claressa Shields can bolster her status as the No. 1 fighter in the world by becoming the undisputed champion in a second weight class, says promoter Dmitriy Salita.

The 25-year-old American star can unify all the super-welterweight world titles when she takes on Marie Eve Dicaire this Saturday, in an all-female show dubbed a “ Superwomen, ” in her hometown of Flint, Michigan.

Shields, who has already won all of the world middleweight titles, may become the first fighter, male or female, to be the undisputed champion in two weight divisions in the era of the four belts.
