Claressa Shields suggested she should appear on a Jake Paul undercard, calling her “disrespectful” and saying she could “beat” the YouTuber.
Shields is part of the new era of Sky Sports Boxing and BOXXER and envisions a grudge match with Savannah Marshall that would be one of the greatest women’s boxing matches of all time.
Amanda Serrano, also one of the best female fighters in the world, appeared on Paul’s most recent undercard, when the social media star-turned-boxer won her toughest fight yet against the former UFC champion. Tyron Woodley.
When asked if she would appear on her undercard as well, Shields replied, “Never disrespect me.
“I would never fight on Jake Paul’s undercard. I’m a three-division world champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist in boxing.
“I would never fight over Jake Paul’s undercard. I don’t know what Amanda Serrano’s purse was – I think it was between $ 75,000 and $ 100,000.
“I would never play another boxing match for that money because I’m worth so much more. I’m a million dollar fighter.
“[Jake Paul] had a circus show. I don’t disrespect Tyron Woodley or Jake Paul, but I’m a real boxer.
“I could beat Jake Paul in the weight class I’m in right now.
“I would never fight over the undercard of someone who doesn’t have the skills or the accomplishments that I have.”
Since entering the professional ring, Paul has won all four of his fights and sees Tommy Fury as his next opponent.
Woodley, meanwhile, tattooed “I love Jake Paul” on his finger due to a bet related to their fight, in hopes of tempting his rival in a rematch.
