Clan del Golfo rejects the Army’s announcement about Operation Darién

The news did not sit well with the illegal armed group, as in a statement they announced their dissatisfaction with the measures taken by the National governmentnoting that the decision caught his attention and that he was surprised that despite the motto he maintained as “Government of Life”, the response to the attacks that the group carries out against the Army and the civilian population is militarization.
“It is striking that the solution is the execution of large military operations, which by the way have not achieved the proposed objectives of dismantling the AGC, but which have led to great abuses against the civilian population, affecting the lives of rural communities. and ethnic groups, as we have denounced on several occasions,” said the illegal group that is currently led by Jobanis de Jesús Ávila Villadiego, alias ‘Bad Boy’.
The reaction of the armed structure goes much further, since it not only indicates surprise, but also accuses the petro government of carrying out a smear campaign against “our organization, falsely accusing us of everything that happens in this violent society. Regarding the Army operation, it is known that it will seek the capture of the top leaders of the organization (alias Javier or Chiquito Malo, the second in command and who replaced Siopas, alias Gonzalito and the third in command, alias Rodrigo Flechas); in addition to the weakening of the structure and the illicit economies that they develop. In this way, taking into account that the Clan del Golfo is in several areas of the country, the military will be deployed from uraba antioquia and the Chocoan Darien.
“This operation seeks to put total pressure on the territory that allows us to affect illicit economies. It implies that we are going to reach the Darién plug where these groups have sold, affecting the community,” General Luis Ospina, commander of the National Army, noted a few days ago at the W Radius.
