Citigroup joins industry efforts to lend to people with no credit score

Citigroup joins a government-sponsored effort to expand access to credit in underserved communities.

The bank is launching two pilot programs early next year as part of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s REACh, or Roundtable for Economic Access and Change, project. One program will issue credit cards to people without a credit score, while the other will make it easier for small businesses owned by minorities, women and veterans to get credit.
