Christopher Meloni suffers humiliating celebrity moment on the street

Chris Meloni said on Monday he was put in his place when he passed actor Ann Dowd on the street one day. (Watch the video below.)
In an appearance on “Late Night,” the “Law & Order: Organized Crime” star noted that he and Dowd acted together on a “Special Victims Unit” episode at the time and again on “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The two therefore had a long way to go in their impromptu reunion.
“We had this big love fest and we’re making it up because we don’t see each other too much,” Meloni told host Seth Meyers. “And this woman comes up to us, she says, ‘Oh, my God, I love you so much.’ And I turned around, I said, ‘Thank you.’ She says, ‘Not you. Her,‘” pointing to Dowd.
Meloni said he made fun of himself, but the humiliation touched a nerve in Meyers. The host joked that this was the reason he never stood next to another famous person in public and avoided Meloni on the street.
Meloni seems to enjoy his fame, but he has recently taken issue with some people who have started showing up in his social media exchanges.
“Real question: Why am I getting so many Ultra Maga GOP shitbags on my feed?” he wrote on Twitter Sunday.
