Christian Eriksen set to stay with Brentford despite interest from Tottenham, with Darren Bent saying Arsenal would be ‘absolutely’ interested

Christian Eriksen is set to turn his back on major interest this summer to stay with Brentford, according to Darren Bent.
The Danish midfielder has been the star of a football fairy tale this term after recovering from his cardiac arrest last summer at the Euros to compete at the highest level again.
After leaving Inter Milan, Eriksen signed a six-month contract with Thomas Frank’s side during the January transfer window, where the playmaker hoped to improve his fitness and start enjoying his football again.
He certainly did it with one goal and three assists in nine appearances for the Bees, catching the attention of many clubs in the process.
Tottenham have been linked with a move to bring the 30-year-old back to north London, but according to Arsenal fan Bent the playmaker is set to stay at Brentford.
Speaking on talkSPORT Drive, Bent said: “He’s transformed Brentford’s form. They had a bit of wobble and he brought real quality.
“It was just fantastic to see Christian Eriksen again.
“Hopefully he will be at Brentford next season as well.”

When asked if he would have it at Arsenal, Bent replied: “Absolutely. I hope he stays at Brentford [though].
“Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. For him, Brentford gave him an opportunity and he rewarded them with fantastic performances.
“He doesn’t need to go anywhere else.”
Responding to Goldstein’s comment that he’s better than Brentford, Bent replied, “Maybe, but I want him to stay because Brentford is nice.

“Does he need that extra pressure? He has already won something, he has won Serie A. That’s enough.
“I think it’s a fantastic story, a real feel-good story. I like him at Brentford.
