Chris Paul set to miss at least six weeks with a broken thumb

The Phoenix Suns have the best record in the NBA during the All-Star break, but could be without star point guard Chris Paul for the remainder of the regular season. According to TNT’s Allie LaForcePaul suffered an avulsion fracture of his right thumb and will be reevaluated by Phoenix in six to eight weeks.

With about seven weeks until the playoffs start in April, that puts the Suns in danger of starting the playoffs without Paul.

Paul, 36, earned his 12th career All-Star selection this season and leads the NBA in assists and steals. He is averaging 14.9 points, 10.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. Paul has recorded two triple-doubles this season and helped Phoenix advance to the 2021 NBA Finals.
