Chris Paul had an epic Game 4 meltdown

Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns is a future Hall of Famer and one of the greatest point guards of all time.

But Sunday night, he was something else entirely: a non-issue.

Paul was made obsolete by the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday.

In the first six minutes of the game, Paul scored four points.

Those would be the only points he would score all night, as the Pelicans stopped him and he scored absolutely nothing else for the rest of the game.

Seeing Paul shut down like this is stunning and should make the Suns very, very nervous heading into Game 5.

The problem with Paul

The Suns needed a big game from Paul on Sunday.

That’s still true but it was doubly true for Game 4 as the team lacked star player Devin Booker, who is out indefinitely through injury.

Paul was tasked with filling the void left by Booker’s absence.

But he didn’t expect the strong defensive output from the Pelicans.

New Orleans had obviously studied Paul and knew exactly what to do to stop him.

The New Orleans defense was everywhere Sunday, smothering the Suns and never letting up.

It’s rare to see a team come together in such a powerful way and it was a thing of beauty for any Pelicans fan.

The Suns will have to pull themselves together for Game 5.

They will have to study what the Pelicans have done and will have to adjust their plans to fight him.

This series is not over – not by a long shot.

the suns could come back in a huge way.

But the Pelicans could continue to impress and surprise the world.

One thing is certain: you need to tune in to Game 5 on Tuesday.
