Chris Cuomo denies trying to manipulate media coverage of his governor brother

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said on NewsNation’s “Dan Abrams Live” on Tuesday that he did not attempt to manipulate media coverage of his brother, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), who resigned after the New York Attorney General’s report found he engaged in sexual misconduct with multiple women.

CNN fired Chris for helping his brother with his journalistic resources.

Abrams said: “Let’s start with the question, ‘I never called the press about my brother’s situation. You did, didn’t you? »

Cuomo said, “No, I never contacted the media that covered my brother to try to affect their coverage. I talk to people in the media all the time.

Abrams said, “But you said, ‘I never phoned the press about my brother’s situation. You called the press about your brother’s situation.

Cuomo replied, “But I think the distinction has a significant difference. The problem wouldn’t be if I called you and said, ‘What do you think is going on here?’ This is me calling you and saying, “Hey, tonight in your segment, I hope you remember.”

Abrams said, “It’s different.”

Cuomo said, “But that’s what it meant, and that’s what matters.”
