Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has claimed that the Sino-Indian border dispute has to do with a weak economy.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Monday that China was taking the same principle with India as Russia was with Ukraine because it threatened to change India’s borders.
He also claimed that the China-India border dispute has to do with a weak economy, a confused nation without any vision, hatred, anger and Chinese people sitting in Indian territory.
“Basically what the Russians did in Ukraine is they said we don’t want Ukraine to have a strong relationship with the West and they basically told the Ukrainians that if you have a relationship strong with the West, we will alter your geography.
“It’s exactly the same principle that can be applied to India. What the Chinese are telling us is to be careful what you do because we will change your geography. We will enter Ladakh , we will enter Arunachal (Pradesh), and what I can see is that they are building a platform for this type of approach,” Gandhi said in a conversation with the film actor turned politician Kamal Haasan.
The congress leader shared the video of his conversation with Haasan on YouTube. Watch the video of the conversation between the two below:
Gandhi said security has become a holistic thing in the 21st century because you have to look at it holistically, adding: “I think our government has completely miscalculated it.” He also said that the definition of conflict has changed because before we fought at the border whereas now we have to fight everywhere.
Thus, the most important thing in the 21st century is for the country to have internal cohesion, the Congress leader noted, adding that there must be harmony in the country, people should not fight each other. against others, there should be peace and the country should have a vision.
“The point is not to go to war, the point is to go to a position where you cannot be attacked. And there is a connection between a weak economy, a confused nation with no vision, hatred and anger and the Chinese sitting on our territory.
“Because they know we’re dealing with internal affairs, internal confusion and internal disharmony and so they can come in and do whatever they want. That’s one end of the problem,” a- he said, adding that a huge part of the problem is what happened in Ukraine.
“So, as an Indian, I don’t want to be a warmonger, but I would like our country to be aware that there are real problems at the border and that these problems are related to what is happening at the border. inside our country. When Indians are fighting Indians, when the economy is not working, when there is unemployment, our external adversary can take advantage of this situation,” Gandhi said.
He said that one of the things that the leaders of the various political parties constantly ask the government to talk about, if not to the media, at least to the opposition, as they understand these things.
“We might be able to help you, advise you, bounce ideas. But they just don’t listen. It’s like in the approach that you understand everything,” he said.
