China publishes integration ‘plan’ with Taiwan — RT World News
Beijing has proposed greater economic cooperation with the self-governing island to ease growing tensions.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has outlined an economic integration plan for Taiwan, while deploying a historically large fleet of warships and aircraft around the self-governing island.
Released on Tuesday by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council in Beijing, the proposal was presented as a “plan” for the future development of Taiwan. Under this plan, the coastal province of Fujian would become a “demonstration area” for the integrated development of Taiwan.

“Resolving the Taiwan question and realizing the complete reunification of the motherland is the steadfast historical task of the Communist Party of China, the common aspiration of all the Chinese people, and the inevitable condition for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.” » declared the CCP in its proposal.
Taiwanese lawmaker Wang Ting-yu, a member of the island’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party, called the project an integration “ridiculous.” Speaking in a video message on Wednesday, he said: “China should think about how it can settle its bad debts, but not how it can carry out united front work against Taiwan. »
