A 9-year-old girl called 911 after her father shot dead three people, including her mother, in an apparently murder-suicide in Brooklyn on Monday night, police said.
Officers answered the call around 11:30 p.m. at a building in the 360 block of Sutter Avenue, according to the New York City Police Department. Officers found two people in the hallway and another person in the living room. All were pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.
The names of the victims were not released, but authorities said one of them was a teenage girl. The other two victims are women aged 20 and 45.
Police said officers found the body of the 46-year-old gunman, apparently with gunshot wounds to the head, in an alley near the apartment. Two guns were found near his body, authorities said.
The girl was not injured in the shooting, police said.
Officials did not give details of a motive.
