Chicago police say 3-year-old child fatally shot after road rage incident: ‘Baby killers on the streets’


Chicago police say a 3-year-old boy was fatally shot Friday night in the city’s southwest.

Police say the incident happened around 8:38 p.m. Friday when a woman was heading north in the 4400 block of West Marquette while in a white 2012 SUV when gunshots were fired from a red sedan, according to FOX 32.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the child’s mother had a road rage incident earlier and left the scene, but the suspect followed her car and eventually fired.

The 3-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital after being shot, but later died.

Police say no suspects are in custody, but believe the suspect is driving a red Charger or Mustang.

Andrew Holmes, a community activist, said a $7,000 reward was being offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.

He said the 3-year-old’s mother had been holding her favorite toys since he was killed, adding that there were ‘baby killers in the streets’.
