Chicago forecasts slight chance of showers and increasing clouds – NBC Chicago

The Chicago area is expected to remain mostly dry Sunday, but early sunshine will likely give way to cloud cover during the afternoon and evening.

According to the NBC 5 Storm Team, temperatures will be pleasant on the first Sunday of fall, with temperatures ranging from the low to mid 70s across the region.

Clouds will increase slowly throughout the day and chances of widely scattered showers will appear in the evening, according to forecast models.

Winds will whip up high waves on Lake Michigan early this afternoon, with swells of 4 to 6 feet possible, according to the National Weather Service. These waves are expected to slowly subside as winds ease during the late afternoon and evening.

Monday’s weather will likely be similar, with highs in the 70s and mostly cloudy conditions.

On Tuesday, showers will become more widespread, and these will likely persist through Wednesday, with temperatures once again around the 70 degree mark.

On Thursday, conditions will begin to clear, with highs still in the low to mid 70s through next weekend.

Stay tuned to the NBC 5 Storm Team for all the latest weather updates.
