CHICAGO (SCS) — Increasing clouds tonight, but dry. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s.
Cloudy and dry to start Saturday, then heavy showers coming in from the west by mid-morning. Wet snow mixed with rain is possible, but primarily for areas north and northwest of Chicago. Little to no snowpack is expected, but up to a third of an inch of rain is possible. The highs won’t reach the low 40s until Saturday. Chances of rain end Saturday evening.
For Sunday, sunny in the morning, then gradual clouds in the afternoon. Highs will range from the low 40s along the lake to the low 50s inland. Chances of showers return Sunday evening and persist at least through the first half of Monday.
Overall, another unstable weather pattern is expected for next week with chances of rain and highs in the 50s. A few thunder rumbles will be possible on Wednesday, but the best chance for strong storms appears to remain south of the area at this point. Light showers are possible Thursday for the Cubs’ home opener.
