Chelsea XI vs Aston Villa: Predicted line-ups, confirmed team news and latest injuries for Premier League match

The £115million summer signing missed last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Bournemouth with a knee injury but hopes to be fit to play at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Noni Madueke and Marc Cucurella are both fit, while Armando Broja could also return to the team.

Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah remain sidelined, along with long-term absentees Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana and Marcus Bettinelli.

“We have to evaluate Moi (Caicedo) tomorrow,” Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino said on Friday. “He trained in a different way than the team.

“Maybe we need one more day for Broja. Maybe Armando could be involved. Many players are starting to become available in games. Broja may be involved this weekend, but that’s after nine months away from competition.

Asked if Broja could solve Chelsea’s need for goals, Pochettino replied: “We can’t put the blame on him. It must depend on the team, on the collective effort.

Asked about the reported setback following Benoit Badiashile’s return from injury, he replied: “It was a different muscle.

“It’s different, but it was minor. He trains with Reece James. I saw Reece and (Carney) Chukwuemeka and also (Trevoh) Chalobah. They are about to start training with the team.

Chelsea predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Gusto, Disasi, Silva, Colwill; Fernández, Ugochukwu; Sterling, Gallagher, Mudryk; Jackson

Doubts: Broja, Caicedo, Madueke, Cucurella

Out: Badiashile, Bettinelli, Chalobah, Chukwuemeka, Fofana, James, Nkunku, Lavia
