Chelsea vs Juventus LIVE commentary and team news: Havertz in doubt but Lukaku could return – Tuchel’s Blues can seal Champions League round of 16 qualification by avoiding defeat

Chelsea can seal their qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League by avoiding a loss to group H leaders Juventus this week.

Les Bleus have been in superb form this season, but the Italian giants are one of only two teams to beat them after a 1-0 win in the second leg.

Chelsea lost to Juventus in their last Champions League game

Federico Chiesa’s second-half goal put the Old Lady three points ahead of Chelsea with two games remaining.

As Juve wrap up their home group stage campaign against Malmo, Thomas Tuchel’s side likely need a win to dominate Group H.

Chelsea v Juventus: team news

Romelu Lukaku is set to make his comeback from injury after missing the last six home games with an ankle problem.

Both Jorginho and Kai Havertz were substituted after taking punches in the 3-0 win over Leicester and there are doubts about the latter’s physical form.

On Lukaku, Tuchel said, “Not sure yet. He looked good in training yesterday, we’ll see for the reaction.

“He has an appointment with the doctors and physiotherapists. Maybe we can bring 20 players into the squad. The last minutes would be the absolute maximum.

“Jorginho is doing absolutely fine. Kai had a hamstring problem so we took him out and we have some doubts with him. That’s more or less the question mark.

For Juventus, Federico Bernardeschi joined Danilo, Giorgio Chiellini and Mattia De Sciglio on the treatment table.

However, there is more positive news on Paulo Dybala who will be available after getting rid of a slight calf problem.

Allegri also reassured fans that Dejan Kulusevski will be involved after missing training on Monday due to a dentist appointment.

Chelsea v Juventus: what was said?

Tuchel: “We’re trying to win, that won’t change.

“Okay, at the end of the game, if the score is a draw, we may not allow Edou Mendy to come out of the box if we have a late corner because we will not risk our qualification and will go all-in in this situation , it’s like that.

“But until then we will try everything to win the game and the group before that. For that we have to earn it.

Allegri: “Tomorrow we are playing for first place against the leaders of the Premier League and the winners of the Champions League.

“Without Lukaku, they have different characteristics differently. They will have fewer reference points and will do more counterattacks.

“Lukaku is a point of reference. They pick up speed without it and defend themselves differently.
