Borussia Dortmund look set to play hard with Chelsea against Erling Haaland, just as they did with Jadon Sancho and Manchester United last summer.
The Blues have been linked with a stunning £ 150million move for 20-year-old striker Haaland this window, edging out the clubs while waiting for the Norwegian’s £ 68million release clause to activate the year next.
But Dortmund are no child’s play in the market, as United discovered during their attempt to sign Sancho in 2020, before finally securing their man for £ 73million in recent weeks.
And the managers of the German club have been agitated amid new transfer rumors around their star players this summer.
Future sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who will replace Michael Zorc next year, has already ruled out a move for Haaland.
When asked if the goal machine would still be at the club after August 31, Kehl replied to Bild: “Yes.”
He then added: “In conversations with Mino Raiola on the [Donyell] Malen transfer, I didn’t have the feeling that we were going to have to meet again soon about Erling.
“And we’ve already stressed 1000 times that we don’t want to give it up.”
Meanwhile, Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke has also insisted Haaland will not be leaving.
The boss also warned suitors of Germany international Julian Brandt, who has been linked with a move to Lazio with manager Maurizio Sarri reportedly keen to bring him to Rome.

“I say it every day: Brandt will stay at Borussia Dortmund,” Watzke said as quoted by Tuttosport.
“For me, it has always been very clear. Julian will stay with us – as well as Erling Haaland. I repeat it every day, but no one seems to care.
“Every week I hear a different thing, but for us it’s okay that Brandt stays in Dortmund.”
