Chelsea player ratings vs Everton: Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix superb but Kalidou Koulibaly still struggles

It was a dominant first-half display from Graham Potter’s side, but it took Joao Felix’s precise strike early in the second half to break the deadlock at Stamford Bridge.

Abdoulaye Doucoure brought home relegation-threatened Everton with goal-line technology before Kai Havertz scored from the penalty spot to restore Chelsea’s lead seven minutes later.

But substitute Ellis Simms earned Sean Dyche’s struggling Toffees such a valuable point in their fight for survival.

Kepa Arrizabalaga — 5

Could do nothing to prevent Everton’s first but really should have denied Everton the late equalizer which earned them a point.

Wesley Fofana — 6

Again probably the best of Chelsea’s centre-backs. Perhaps he gave Demarai Gray too much space in wide areas in the first half.

Kalidou Koulibaly — 4

Beaten aerially too easily for Everton’s first goal, before striker Simms passed him for the second. A bad outing for a player who has yet to find his feet in English football.

Benoit Badiashile — 5

Stupidly fouled Demarai Gray in the first half in a position the Toffees could have threatened from. Otherwise okay, but still needs to raise his game a few notches.

Reece James—6

He still looks capable when running forward from the right – and that will never change. But it was a quiet night by Englishman’s high standards.

Enzo Fernandez — 8 | star man

Many will continue to mock Chelsea for shelling out £107million to sign the World Cup winner in January, but he continues to fit perfectly into the bridge. Class on the ball and always impatient. Stunning.

Mateo Kovacic—7

Led Chelsea midfield well. Almost marked at start and was generally tidy.

Ben Chilwell—8

Brilliant performance from Chilwell in his 50th Premier League appearance for the club. Heavily involved in Felix’s goal, which broke the deadlock.

Kai Havertz—7

An aerial threat as always, and will be delighted to score with a smart penalty after James was brought down in the box.

Joao Felix — 8

About as effective as any Chelsea player. Shot well, beat the Everton defense with his pace and scored his second goal for the club with an accurate finish early in the second half.

Christian Pulisic — 7

A great performance from a player rarely entrusted to start with the Blues. Almost scored a cracker, but it was disallowed for offside.
