Chelsea FC XI vs Everton: Sterling starts

The £62million signing from Brighton was at Cobham’s training center training after beating the Premier League midday deadline.

He trained before the trip but is on the bench with fellow new signings Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly who have started.

The attack will be built around Sterling who mainly lined up alongside Kai Havertz and Mason Mount in pre-season and the trio will continue at Goodison Park.

Even though the Blues used a back four in pre-season, they continue with their preferred 3-5-2 formation.

It will be a host of the usual senior squad names alongside the two new signings with Cucurella on the bench as planned.

Returning players Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher are left on the bench.

Chelsea starting XI (3-4-3): Mendi; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly; James, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell; Mount, Havertz, Sterling

submarines: Cucurella, Chalobah, Gallagher, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Ziyech, Broja
