CF Montreal loses its best player for a long time

CF Montreal will be amputated from forward Romell Quioto for a very long time, since he suffered a torn thigh.

That’s what 98.5 Network reporter Jeremy Filosa first reported Thursday midday. The length of the Honduran’s absence would remain indefinite. Quioto reportedly started feeling pain earlier this week in training. He was also absent for the club’s last three games.

Injuries are starting to catch up with the 31-year-old. He had returned to Honduras in April to treat an injury to his other thigh and had missed about a month of activities. Despite only playing seven Major League Soccer (MLS) games this season, Quioto leads CF Montreal with three goals.

In four campaigns in the Quebec metropolis, he totaled 38 goals and 18 assists in 88 games in all competitions. The veteran also received the Giuseppe-Saputo trophy, awarded to CF player of the year, for the second time at the end of last season.

Montreal will play its next game against Inter Miami CF on Saturday.
